Boob Physics in Soul Calibur IV
A while back I had posted in my blog a story called The Cover-Up Conspiracy which was about how the women in the game Soul Calibur IV have breasts that are, well, unrealistically large. Why they chose the large breast look, no one will ever know, but lucky for us all the guys (most likely guys anyway) at gamesradar.com have come up with a nice little video called Boob Physics.

The point of the video is that Soul Calibur IV was released for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 and the video helps determine which console you should buy the game for if you happen to own both systems. They do this buy doing a side by side comparison of how the boob physics work in each console. Yes... this is real.

Although the video is completely stupid it may still be worth watched simply because it is absolutely crazy to think that anyone would WANT to see this in a videogame. Click here to check it out.

The Cover-Up Conspiracy

The person who see above is Ivy, a whip yielding fighter from the Soul Calibur. There is a new one coming out soon, I think it is Soul Calibur 3 but don't quote me on that. Anyway the Ivy you see on the left is from the Japanese site for the game and the Ivy on the right is from the American site and now Americans all over the America are up in arms because of how much more clothing Ivy has on on our site! Damn this word and the large amounts of clothing!

Ok, so I was being a bit sarcastic, the amount of clothes on either version of Ivy is clearly not the problem (even though a shoe string would never hold those). Clearly I do not have to say what the real problem is because I know all my readers are itelligent enough to figure it out but seriously, how is that necessary. What weird fetish is this fulfilling? I was a fan of the Soul Calibur series but I wont be buying this game, and not because I feel like i am being ripped off because she has soooo much clothing on.

Embroideries

I recently read Embroideries by Marjane Satrapi and the book is about Iranian women's experience with love and sex. The title comes from a word commonly associated the the practice of hymen reconstruction to re-give a woman her virginity, this way she wont be a social outcast for having premarital sex or for being raped.

I think it is pretty pathetic that procedures like this even exist and that women feel they need to get it to ensure they are marriage material. Also, do not think this entirely religious because I respect Islam. Virginity is not something that can simply be reconstructed in the eyes of God, thus hymen reconstruction is not to appease a God but to reinforce strict standards of masculinity and femininity and the double standard that is imposed on women as being asexual and men being overly sexual.

Although this book is about a pretty serious topic it is actually really funny (purposefully, I should add). I think the reason for this was to sort of create a bridge between the very oppressed women of Iran to the not so oppressed western women. With this connection we can begin to see how patriarchy has become so hegemonic that it is hard to see how it oppresses women in our own culture.

Anyway, if you are looking for a good read I would suggest this book, it is very good and it is really short, and there are pictures on every page!

Violence in Videogames
By now everyone knows that Grand Theft Auto IV has been released by now and there is a lot pissed off parents due to the amount of violence in this game. Firstly, this game is not designed for children, that is why it is rated M (for mature). If you are one of those parents who, instead of not allowing your child to buy this game instead criminalizes Rockstar for developing it, then you should at least be reassured by this following story good news, violent video games do not turn kids violent! According to a pair of Harvard psychologists has determined there is no link between violent kids and violent video games.

Now parents, just because games don't turn kids violent, does not mean you should allow your kids to play these games, definitely not! These games are more than just violent but racist and sexist, and those are two "ists" that children cannot comprehend and should not be exposed too.

Edit: I am a dope and realized I forgot to post the link to the story, well here it is: http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/37361/98/
